JIMMY DRANCSAK

BAROQUE VIOLIN, BAROQUE VIOLA, & TRADITIONAL FIDDLER

Jimmy Drancsak recently completely a master’s degree in historical performance at The Juilliard School, and holds a bachelor of music degree in violin performance and music education from the State of College of New York at Fredonia School of Music. Jimmy performs internationally with Juilliard415, and in North America with La Fiocco, Bourbon Baroque, Teatro Nuovo, The Arrow Quartet, In Nomine Ensemble, La forze delle stelle, Seven Hills Baroque Ensemble, Princeton Pro Musica, and Kollective366. He grew up playing traditional North American fiddle, and enjoys an eclectic career that blends his folk music background with his passion for 17th- and 18th-century music. Continuing his love for teaching, Jimmy runs a weekly fiddle session at The Juilliard School, which brings the tradition of rote-learning to classically-trained musicians from around the world.
