ALLEN HAMRICK
RECORDER, DULCIAN, BAROQUE BASSOON
Praised for his musicality and virtuosity, Allen Hamrick enjoys a varied career as a period bassoonist and recorder player. He has performed with the Boston Early Music Festival, Boston Baroque, The Handel and Haydn Society, La Fiocco, and other ensembles across the country. He recently performed in Boston Baroque’s production of Amadigi di Gaula, and in the Charlotte Bach Festival’s performances of J. S. Bach’s Easter Oratorio and St. John Passion. Upcoming performances include appearances with Boston Baroque throughout their 2022-2023 season; Maometto II by Rossini with Teatro Nuovo; and appearances with many ensembles in the Boston area. Allen is also an avid educator, serving as bassoon faculty for the Instrumental and Vocal Extension Program for the school system in Wellesley, MA. Allen holds music degrees from Indiana University, University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and The Juilliard School.
