CARLOS FITTANTE
choreography and dancer
Carlos Fittante specializes in Baroque, Balinese, and Spanish Escuela Bolera dance styles and is the Artistic Director of BALAM Dance Theatre (BALAM), a contemporary cultural dance company. A former principal dancer with the New York Baroque Dance Company, Carlos is a graduate of the School of American Ballet and holds a Master of Fine Arts in Dance from the Peck School of the Arts.
Known for his well-researched, imaginative choreography and charismatic dancing, The New York Times and Dance Magazine have praised his work. Some of his notable works include Versailles: Portrait of Royal Domain, Monteverdi’s L’Ofeo, Garden of Love in Miniature, Ramayana: Abduction of Sita, and Caballo de Rejoneo. He has performed at prestigious venues including Alice Tully Hall, Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, and at the International Bali Arts Festival, among others. He is adjunct Assistant Professor at Queens College (CUNY), where he created and teaches the asynchronous online course, Introduction to Dance.
