The Lion & The Sun: Musical splendors of Baroque Venice & Naples

Join us for our season finale as La Fiocco presents dazzling music from Venice and Naples, Europe’s most innovative musical cities during the 17th and 18th centuries. Guest artist tenor Corey Shotwell will perform songs from a 1601 collection that sparked the Baroque era, an elegant pastoral cantata of Alessandro Scarlatti, and arias by Antonio Vivaldi from his operas La virtù trionfante overo Il Tigrane and Atenaide. The program also includes instrumental works by Dario Castello, Johann Rosenmüller, Francesco Mancini, and Domenico Sarro.
