La Fiocco explores the literary heroes and anti-heroes of the 17th and 18th-century as they are brought to life through music. We move from the pastoral to the ecclesiastical by way of the sinning sorceress Armida brilliantly sung by celebrated soprano Laura Heimes. With Claire Smith Bermingham & Dan McCarthy, baroque violins, Charles Wines, recorder & baroque bassoon, Vivian Barton Dozor, baroque cello & viola da gamba, Benjamin T. Berman, harpsichord, Lewis R. Baratz, artistic director, recorder, harpsichord. Music of Purcell, William Williams, Henry Hall, Antonio Vivaldi, Petrus Hercules Brehy, Antonio Caldara, and George Frideric Handel.
